Welcome to “On the Couch” — a series of Q&A sessions where you get to know the human side of our amazing staff at Well Clinic.

This week we chatted with Will Reyes, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), and the new Clinical Director at Well Clinic in San Francisco.

Will Reyes therapist What is your favorite part about your work?

I love making connections with people and listening to their stories. I enjoy learning and laughing with my clients just as much as guiding and supporting them.

What is your favorite thing about San Francisco?

The food, weather, museums, and the Giants.

What is your favorite place you’ve ever been?

Besides my native San Francisco, it’s a three way tie between Kauai, Hong Kong, and Amsterdam.

What is your favorite memory ever?

These are my most important memories: My wedding, the birth of my kids, and celebrating the Giants winning their first World Series in San Francisco.

My most visceral memory is swimming during a tropical rainstorm at Ke’e beach.

Where did you grow up?

Most of my childhood in the East Bay, but I haven’t really grown up.

What is your favorite quote?

“The best way out is always through.” -Robert Frost

In your free time, what are you most likely doing?

Disneyland, if that counts. Mexico if it doesn’t.

What was your career before becoming a mental health practitioner?

None, this has always been my career. I do work as a photographer as my side hustle.

Do you have any talents that few people know about? If so, what are they?

I am a locally-renowned burping contestant.

What is your favorite sports team?

Giants, followed closely by the 49ers, and the Warriors.

Charlotte’s Web.

What is your favorite movie?

What motivates you professionally?

Seeing my clients meet their goals.

What motivates you personally?

Working so I can travel.

Describe one of your first few jobs.

I was a barista, so I blended things and misspelled customer names, sometimes unintentionally. Also, I taught little kids how to ski, which was a blast.

What’s one fun thing you wish you could do more of?

Run (I have bad knees) and sleep (I have bad sleep habits).

About the Author

  • I absolutely love Well Clinic! From the beginning, my husband and I felt like we were in a comfortable and safe space.

Our couple’s therapy bridged gaps in our relationship and helped us understand each other that much more.

  • Well Clinic is an oasis, especially for busy professionals like me.

It’s a relaxing and safe space, nothing like the stuffy or drab offices you’d expect when going to a therapist.

    Brianna S

  • Well Clinic’s inviting and professional design makes me feel comfortable and at ease, which probably benefits the work I am doing.

In fact, it doesn’t really feel like a therapy clinic at all, which I find awesome.
