PSYCHOTHERAPY TRAINING PROGRAM

SAN FRANCISCO PSYCHOTHERAPY TRAINING PROGRAM

The Psychotherapy Training Program at Well Clinic has a mission of training the new generation of psychotherapists to develop excellent clinical skills, based on the latest developments in research, theory, and clinical guidelines. We invite candidates working toward licensure in the following degrees: MFT, LCSW, PCCL, and PhD and PsyD in psychology.

We are committed to supporting clinicians-in-training from underrepresented groups in entering the field of psychotherapy while making a living wage. Fifty percent of our cohort each year is reserved for clinicians-in-training from groups who historically have not been equally represented in mental health fields, including but not limited to people of color, immigrants, people with disabilities, and LGBTQ people.

Clinicians-in-training are expected to dedicate themselves to an intensive program of didactic and clinical learning, in order to achieve competence in assessment and the effective application of integrative psychotherapy with individuals and couples.

Well Clinic’s Psychotherapy Training program is structured to not only provide an opportunity for clinicians-in-training to gain supervised clinical practice and didactic learning, but also to encourage their passion for lifelong learning of theory, research, and practice, and keeping abreast with the latest developments in the mental health field.

Successful clinicians in training will demonstrate the ability to identify areas of growth and engage in disciplined self-study of didactic material and openness to multimodal approaches to psychotherapy.
