Congratulations to San Francisco for achieving a significant reduction in the Covid transmission rate!
Let’s all hope this trend continues through the winter, in the face of the opposite trends nationally.
When will Well Clinic resume in-person therapy?
Moving into the “yellow tier” doesn’t materially change the restrictions on Well Clinic. In the Shelter In Place Health Order issued on October 27, 2020, for the county of San Francisco they still emphasize the following:
“Maximization of Telework. All Businesses must continue to maximize the number of Personnel who work remotely from their place of Residence, subject to the conditions and limitations provided in Appendix C-1.”
Because Mental Health is an essential service, we’ve been straddling two categories this entire time. Our reading of the order remains quite clear that if we are able to work from home, this is still the requirement.
In order to operate indoors, there is mandatory signage required warning clients of the risk and informing them of any enhanced ventilation protocols. Also, the social distancing and face-covering requirements would apply as well during the session.
All evidence about how the virus spreads continues to point to continuous indoor contact with talking (crying, yelling?) being a pretty high-risk activity. So with all of this in mind, Well Clinic will continue to officially operate solely through telehealth at this time.
