Hypnotherapy can help you create new responses, thoughts, attitudes, behaviors or feelings
It’s important to note that hypnotherapy is different from traditional hypnosis. Think of hypnosis as putting a band-aid on a cut, while hypnotherapy treats the wound at a cellular level.
At Well Clinic, our certified and compassionate hypnotherapists may use the technique as part of an integrated treatment plan. It will never be done without your permission, and is always practiced in a safe and secure environment.
How does hypnotherapy work?
Hypnotherapy helps direct your imagination and unconscious mind in a way that can alter your sensations, perceptions, feelings, thoughts and behavior. It involves a deliberate choice to enter a state of hypnosis, for a goal beyond relaxation.
Once you have entered a hypnotic state, you may be able to explore any painful thoughts, feelings or memories that you have hidden from your conscious mind. While your therapist may be able to offer unconscious suggestions during your session, that is not the primary goal.
Later, once you awaken from hypnosis, you can discuss any newfound realizations or understandings with your therapist.
