My approach

Blind from birth, Courtney possesses unique talents having learned to navigate the world by way of touch, intuition, and sensitivity. Her natural skills have been greatly enhanced by her education and training as a somatic counselor and body-worker with 12 years experience. She became a certified massage practitioner at Touch Therapy institute in Los Angeles, before graduating high school. She received her BA in psychology from California State University at Northridge, and went on to get a MA in Somatic Psychology from California Institute of Integral studies in San Francisco.

“Working as a massage therapist and studying psychology at the same time, I found that these were just two different approaches to working with the same issues. I found that physical issues often correlated with emotional challenges. Everything is connected, mind effects body and body effects mind. So, I sought to combine the two approaches for a much more efficient and effective form of helping others to heal and improve their quality of life.”

Through touch, Courtney works to facilitate grounding, relaxation, clarity, and healing of the mind, body, and soul. Throughout her career she has trained in a variety of modalities that she integrates into her work based on individual needs. These include: Hakomi, Reiki, Swedish massage, deep tissue, sports massage, acupressure, Rosen work, Brennan Healing Sciences, and Lomi Lomi. She has specialized experience working with trauma, pain, addiction, stress, depression, anxiety, disability, chronic illness, and grief.
