As an integrative psychiatrist, combining expertise in psychotherapy, psychopharmacology, and complementary medicine, I treat a diverse spectrum of psychological, emotional, and spiritual challenges, including mood disorders, anxiety, attention problems, relationship and work issues and communication. I also help people recover from trauma and cope with medical-related illnesses.
My approach to care begins with examining what ails someone through the lens of emotional, cognitive, genetic, nutritional and environmental factors. An integrative treatment to address mind and body may benefit from an exploration of the individual’s emotional life and deep concerns through psychotherapy, where I draw upon psychodynamic, attachment, mindfulness, and cognitive behavioral models to promote healing.
As a dedicated student of Ashtanga yoga and Vipassana meditation. I maintain an open stance towards various healing modalities. At times, I find it valuable to utilize elements of yoga, mindfulness, nutrition, and Ayurvedic medicine and/or collaborate with other specialists.
