The goal of CBT Therapy is to help you get better and stay better
CBT Therapy can help you learn to recognize negative thought patterns, evaluate their validity and replace them with healthier ways of thinking.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
Your mood is directly related to your patterns of thought. As such, negative or dysfunctional thinking directly affects your mood … as well as your behavior, sense of self and physical condition. This is what CBT Therapy addresses head-on.
Is CBT Therapy for me?
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is an incredibly powerful technique, which can be used to help treat a wide variety of issues and disorders. These include:
- Anxiety
- Depression
- Anger
- Grief
- Low self-esteem
- Obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD)
- Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
How does CBT Therapy work?
At Well Clinic, a typical Cognative Behavioral Therapy session might involve role playing, guided discovery or behavioral experiments. During the process, you will also be monitoring and writing down any negative thoughts and mental images that arise.
Using a mix of CBT and traditional talk therapy, you can later explore how those thoughts and images affect your daily life. Then, you can begin to develop coping mechanisms to change your relationship with them.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is an active experience: both in session and between sessions. You are the driving force behind your transformation, and will be given “homework assignments” to facilitate your process.
