In a continued effort to provide the most ethical and socially-conscious therapy in San Francisco, Well Clinic has undergone a rigorous evaluation and been recertified as a B-Corp.
To provide a bit of background, B Corps are for-profit companies, which have been certified by the nonprofit B Lab to meet rigorous standards of social and environmental performance, accountability and transparency.
Well Clinic was first recognized as a B Corp in 2016, and has worked tirelessly to uphold the standards of the accrediting organization.
According to Well Clinic’s website, they became a B Corp because they understand how interconnected all the realms of life are.
“If we want to improve mental health and wellness in our community we must also be providing a nurturing and healthy workplace, and that workplace can only exist if we sustain a healthy planet.
At all levels of our organization, we strive to show the world what prioritizing mental health can look like in our modern age.” (Source: wellsanfrancisco.com) https://wellsanfrancisco.com/about/b-corporation/
Incidents of depression and anxiety are continually on the rise. Well Clinic seeks to reverse this trend by eliminating the stigma of going to therapy. Instead, they strive to make these services accessible and common.
Most mental health professionals work in individual offices or large agencies where the ability to resource and connect is limited. Well Clinic makes community and working in a shared space an explicit value and priority, so that staff have an internal community.
This, in turn, emulates what they strive to create for their clients as well. Well Clinic wants to empower clients to make human connection a priority in their lives. This starts with their experience of a clinic that is warm and welcoming, and a clinician who is accessible and a good fit for their needs.
